Eric Buddington for City Council

Since moving to North Adams in 1997, I have consistently worked for a stronger community and a better-informed public.

Contra Dance

I organize the All Saints Third Friday contra dance, a monthly dance that has been going on for about ten years. We have a wealth of skilled musicians who donate their time, and attract a variety of families and college students.

Saturday Morning Music

I'm a regular musician at the informal Saturday morning jam session at Mass MoCA. This started out at the Appalachian Bean, and migrated to Lickey Split when the Bean closed.

This session provides entertainment for families passing through, and attracts a few visitors who travel specifically to listen or join in.

Public Access Television

I produce and co-host Worth Knowing along with Kelly Lee. This show covers local and national issues that aren't getting enough attention otherwise.

I programmed and maintain the webcasting system for NBCTC, which includes videos of the North Adams City Council. This allows you to watch any meeting since late 2009. As far as I know, this is the only verbatim record of these meetings.

I designed and programmed the system that retrieves video of the Massachusetts Legislature and re-encodes it for broadcast on Channel 17.

North Adams Information

I have set up a wiki (very similar to Wikipedia) to organize information about North Adams that's not documented elsewhere. When I take notes on a City Council meeting, they go here. Anyone in North Adams may sign up and easily contribute to this site.
